Women Solidarity Initiatives For Development (WOSID)

Empowering Rural Women Farmers for a Brighter Future

Welcome to WOSID – Where Women Thrive!
At Women Solidarity Initiatives For Development (WOSID), we are dedicated to uplifting and empowering women, particularly rural women farmers, across Nigeria. Through targeted programs, training, and partnerships, we foster economic growth, self-reliance, and gender equality. Join us in creating a future where every woman has the tools and opportunities to succeed.

Advocacy

At WOSID, we champion gender equality and stand firmly against all forms of discrimination and marginalization. We advocate for fair representation of women in political and economic spheres, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes. Our efforts are dedicated to securing equal rights and opportunities for all women, regardless of background or status. Through policy influence and strategic partnerships, we work tirelessly to improve women’s livelihoods and dismantle systemic barriers that hinder their progress. Fair representation of women in politics and the economy.

Rural Women Empowerment

Rural women form the backbone of agriculture in Nigeria, yet they remain underpaid, underserved, and overlooked by society. WOSID intervenes by providing secure farming environments where women can work without fear of displacement or exploitation. We support infrastructure development, including better roads, to help them transport their produce to markets. Additionally, we offer zero-interest loans to help women expand their businesses.. We address their immediate welfare needs, including healthcare, food, clothing, and other essentials, ensuring they live with dignity and security.

Entrepreneurship & Skills Acquisition

Statistics reveal that only 20% of Nigerian women are truly economically independent. WOSID is committed to changing this narrative by establishing Entrepreneurship Development and Skills Acquisition Centers (EDSAC) across the nation. Through tailored training programs, we equip them with the skills needed to thrive in various industries. Our pilot skills acquisition center in Gindiri, Plateau State, already transforming lives and inspiring similar initiatives in other regions in Nigeria and across the whole Africa.
